Just bawled my eyes out.
During Desperate Housewives.
I know. "What the hell?" crossed my mind, too.
It was that episode with Beau Bridges as the handyman who helped a lot of people. Thing is, I only started tearing up near the end, when it was revealed that Mary Alice (our narrator) was the reason why Beau was so nice and helpful to everyone.
I don't like Hallmark, but occasionally, something like this is kinda nice :)
[Also, I seem to have a problem spelling 'occasion'. Always with one 'c' rather than two.]

Had my first ever muesli bar today...
Uncle Toby's. Even though the muesli part looked a bit like mashed-up puke (it had chocolate chips as well), it tasted lovely.

The Number 23 (2007)
I saw this movie a few weeks back; thought I'd share :)
It's about this guy who discovers that his life is mirrored in the book (aptly titled The Number 23) that his wife buys him for his birthday. His life begins to unravel as he, like the main character in the book, begins to see numerical variations of the number 23 everywhere.
Four words: Great concept, draggy execution.
Despite not liking Numb3rs, I'm a Math geek, and I've been looking forward to the movie (on TV anyways) for a while now. Although it's very interesting to see Jim Carrey's life go to pieces and him not getting any worthwhile answers, it was a bit slow at first, and things only picked up from the middle onwards.
For one thing, the dog was kinda pointless. I get that whole 'Guardian of the Undead' thing, but I felt it wasn't necessary. Walter could've gotten to know about Laura Tollins without said dog getting in the way that often. Hence, the end quote ""Be sure that your sins will find you out."
Also, why would Virginia Madsen (who plays Carrey's wife) be having a knife in her purse?? I was wondering whether it'd come from the old guy who committed suicide (he slit his own throat), but it doesn't make sense that way because she'd have to wipe the BLOOD off the knife first before putting it in her bag, and that's withholding evidence. If she'd wanted to protect herself, she could've gotten a GUN (which, in movies like these, are always conveniently at hand off-screen) from Danny Huston or something. That would be more effective than a knife.
As I mentioned before, I loved the concept, but the movie itself was TOO complicating (yeah, I can't believe I typed that either) to the point that some bits didn't make sense. Plus, the ending was a bit of a let-down, since the movie was really intense once it got into the swing of things.
EDIT: I just realised something. My flight was on April 19th. 19 + 4 = 23.

Melbourne postings in a bit!
I'll be posting on my Melbourne trip (with piccies and such) in a few days, since my CPA exam is on Thursday. Busy, busy, busy...

Rap aside, I just found out that Aussie TV > Malaysian TV.
Majorly.
Even though I was in Melbourne for close to a year, I didn't have the chance to check out the shows on TV, mainly because:
- The TV is downstairs (I've an upstairs room);
- I don't know how to work the remote to work the TV;
- Some time around the middle of the year, it only had ONE channel;
- It snows in the TV;
- My housemates who LIVE DOWNSTAIRS hog said TV; and
- The TV is downstairs (as you can see, an important factor)
As we all know, Malaysia has very strict standards for censorship, whereas other countries (like Australia, f'rinstance) have little to none.
[These countries go up in the 'cool' scale a bit more.]
I'm not sure how regular TV in Australia's like, but I think we got a few of the 'paid subscription' ones in the hotel (hence, TV awesomeness), and below are my observations (between paid TV and paid TV):
[Note: Observations are based on American and UK TV, and not local content.]
- On weekdays, there are two-three episodes of Everbody Loves Raymond, two of which are back-to-back (on channel 7, I think), and one at 9pm on Fox 8. Seinfeld also has two timeslots during the week, if I remember correctly.
- There is Frasier at 9.30pm, also on Fox 8, every single weekday of the week (except Friday)
- They have Family Guy
- Their Lost is so much more updated than ours. I feel even more LOST than ever (geddit?geddit?)
- Their Cartoon Network have loads more awesome cartoons than ours. I love Tom and Jerry as much as the next person, but too many old cartoons (like Road Runner, Pink Panther etc.) had made me go boom. AusCN has animé at night (KamehameHAAAA!!) plus they aired Jurassic Park (as in, non-animation!1!) during their CN Movie line-up.
- They have Letterman
- TV actually made me NOT want to gamble (we stayed near the casino)
- They air tournaments from the World Poker Tour.And I understood how the game was played!!1!one
- Family Guy
[I'm looking at you TV2. Thanks for airing 3rd Rock From The Sun at 12.30am, and shifting Dexter up to 11.30am. And you wonder why nobody watches your channel.]
Which reminds me, why is Guinevere so, well, hideous? I only realised this when I saw the promos for Merlin while abroad. I know she's supposed to be a maid in this one, but she ACTUALLY looks like one. She doesn't look queenly AT FRIGGIN' ALL! I get that they're shaking up and revamping Merlin's story, but Guinevere is supposed to be BEAUTIFUL, that's why Arthur and Lancelot wanted her. I mean, I get the casting if Arthur and Lancelot aren't attractive, but they are. Don't tell me that there aren't any other PRETTIER English black actresses. Whatever happened to Marsha Thomason?
Also, despite loving Math, Numb3rs bored the shit out of me. Read More......
